The hardware is categorized as below:-
- Small Branch
Edge 510
The following are provided by the SD-WAN Edge 510 and 510N:
A wireless local area network can be connected to using an integrated 802.11ac Wi-Fi antenna. Four WAN or LAN links can be configured using the four RJ-45 GbE ports.
Edge 510 LTE
Up to four local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) connections can be established. Four RJ-45 GbE connectors can be used to configure the connections. It also provides a wireless LAN connection via an integrated 802.11ac Wi-Fi module and a wireless WAN connection via an inbuilt LTE modem.
To increase the number of wide area network connections and to accept wireless LTE modems that are external to the device, there are two USB 2.0 connectors available.
Edge 520
The following components are included in the SD-WAN Edge 5×0 series:
Two Gigabit Ethernet connections, a 2G SFP connector for the wide area network, and configurable connections for local area networks and wide area networks
- Medium Branch
Edge 540
Edge 6X0
Edge 6×0 has 6 gigabit Ethernet ports that may be configured for LAN and WAN. The Edge 610 has one 10Gb SFP, and the Edge 620, 640, and 680 have one 10Gb SFP+. These are the two SFP WAN links. Wireless Internet built in (except for Edge models, which are marked with a “N”).
Before the Edge is activated, the ports that are identified as GE1 and GE2 are configured to provide a DHCP server. This is done before initiating the Edge. Connectivity to a local area network is also suggested for these ports.
The ports designated as SFP1, SFP2, and GE3-GE6 are in charge of supplying WAN connectivity. These ports will attempt to construct an SD-WAN overlay while simultaneously requesting a DHCP address.
