Configure Alerts and Notifications

You may configure alerts in SD-WAN Orchestrator to let Operators, Enterprise Administrators, or other help users know when something happens. The New Orchestrator UI lets you set up the Alerts and Notifications.

You cannot configure the Alerts or other items if you are logged in as a user with customer support capabilities. However, you can see them.

Click Service Settings > Alerts & Notifications in the Enterprise portal. The screen for configuring alerts displays.

Set Up Alerts

You can choose which events lead to alerts on the Alerts page of the Alert Configuration window. You can also add or change admin users’ private data.

The reports are sent to both the customers and the operator’s team that is in charge of the SD-WAN Orchestrator as a whole. The alerts that are sent right away to operators are called pre-notification alerts. Customer or Enterprise alerts may be delayed based on how the Enterprise Admin has set them up. For example, a Link Down alert could be sent to both a location set by the operator and a destination set by the customer. Let’s say a customer sets the Link Down alert delay to two minutes and a link is down for a minute. The Orchestrator sends an Operator warning for Link Down if Pre-Notification Alerts are turned on for this link. The Customer does not get an alert because it happened after the delay that was set.

Process

  • By default, the Alerts page appears in the Alert Configuration window.
  • The events listed below are shown in the Incident section.

  • Check the boxes that apply, and then type in the number of minutes you want to wait between notifications.
  • When you pick all of the events, the on/Off toggle button is automatically turned on.
