Unit 1: Network Infrastructure
This will allow you to demonstrate your networking skills, knowledge, and abilities, with a focus on enterprise-level switching, routing, and multicast components that support cross-platform (inter)operability and integration with the most recent software-defined technologies.

Spanning Tree Protocol: RSTP Inferior BPDU Handling

The handling of inferior BPDUs that are transmitted by authorized switches on a segment is another area in which RSTP has enhanced its capabilities.

In 802.1D, if a designated switch began delivering inferior BPDUs, the other switches on the segment would wait for the MaxAge timer to expire before the initial superior BPDU would expire.

In 802.1W, if an inferior BPDU that was generated by a specified switch is transmitted to other switches on the segment, those BPDUs are accepted instantly, thereby replacing the BPDUs that were previously stored on the receiving ports of the switches that are attached.

Because of this, associated switches are immediately compelled to reassess the port responsibilities and to respond quickly to a scenario in which an adjacent switch suffers a topology change event.
