Set Up the Business Policy

A feature known as Business Policy is offered by VMware, which is an upgraded Quality of Service platform. At both the Profile and Edge levels, SD-WAN Orchestrator gives you the ability to set business policy rules. The development of business policy rules is accomplished through the utilization of several parameters, including but not limited to the source IP address/port, the destination IP address/port, the domain name, the address and port group, applications, application categories, and DSCP tags. All levels of operators, partners, and administrators have the ability to draft a policy for the company.

Configuration of Business Policies

To enable or disable traffic, you may configure matching parameters and an action to be executed when they are satisfied in order to construct business policy rules.

Required conditions

Make sure the network devices are configured with the correct IP addresses.

Process

  • Select Profiles from the menu in the Enterprise site. The current Profiles are shown on the Profiles page.
  • You can either click on the link to a Profile or the View link in the Biz. Pol column of the Profile.
  • Select the tab for business policies.

The following information is displayed on the Business Policy tab:

  • Business Policy Rules— This screen shows the business policy rules that have already been set. If you want to make a new business policy, click + ADD. Check the boxes next to the products you want to delete, then click the “Delete” button. Pick out a business policy and hit the CLONE button to make a copy of it.
  • Traffic Class and Weight Mapping for SD-WAN— enables the definition of traffic classes together with their respective priorities and service classes, as well as the mapping of scheduler weights.
  • SD-WAN Overlay Rate Limit—This feature lets you set a rate limit for tunnel data. Check out Tunnel Shaper for Service Providers with Partner Gateway to learn more.
