This part talks about the improvements for Edge Clustering fixing issues.
Overview
One of the troubleshooting features that is included in Edge Clustering is the ability to rebalance VMware SD-WAN Spoke Edges within a Cluster system. It is possible to accomplish the rebalancing of the Spokes through any of the Hubs that are contained within the Cluster. When it comes to rebalancing Spokes, there are two methods:
- Spreading the Spokes out evenly among all the Hubs in the Cluster.
- Remove one of the Hubs from the Cluster and rebalance the Spokes by distributing them across the remaining Hubs.
How to Use the VMware SD-WAN Orchestrator to Rebalance Spokes on the Hub
By using VMware SD-WAN Orchestrator Remote Diagnostics, an administrator can rebalance the spokes in a cluster. Users have two options when a new Remote Diagnostics option called Rebalance Hub Cluster appears when an SD-WAN Edge is installed as a Hub in a Cluster.
Spread out the spokes within the hub cluster
- With this option, an attempt will be made to re-distribute Spoke Edges in a manner that is uniform across all Hub Edges in the Cluster.
Move the Spokes around, leaving this Hub alone.
- This choice will try to evenly move Spokes to other Hubs in the Cluster, excluding the Hub Edge from which the Redistribute Spokes utility is being run.
- To fix problems or do maintenance, you can use this choice to get rid of all the Spokes on this Hub Edge.
