Unit 1: Network Infrastructure
This will allow you to demonstrate your networking skills, knowledge, and abilities, with a focus on enterprise-level switching, routing, and multicast components that support cross-platform (inter)operability and integration with the most recent software-defined technologies.
To eliminate the possibility of loops occurring in the OSI model layer 2, the STP protocol was designed. There are a number of features that have been developed as a result of the high STP Convergence time associated with a cable failure that takes place in a redundant network.
What is STP Uplinkfast in the world of networking, and what does it do?
It is important for networks to have backup lines these days. People who work for a company should always have their servers running. This makes sure that servers don’t have to take breaks while they serve customers. We should also say that UplinkFast is only for Cisco.
The STP algorithm was designed to handle the fact that it makes the second-layer devices loop while the backup is happening. In this case, if one of the cables attached to a switch fails, the other one needs to take over. That’s why STP is useful.
